A Typical Day in Samburu
06.30 am Wake up with a cup of tea delivered to your room as the rising sun streams through the windows.
07.00 am Take a short walk under the shade of the River Acacia trees, checking for the signs of the wild. Learn to identify the numerous species of birds and wildlife as you go.
08.00 am Around the bend in the river you will find the mess crew ready and waiting with your alfresco breakfast.
09.30 am From the bush breakfast site drive out onto the conservancy, trying to spot the wildlife which frequents the area. Return to the lodge in time to freshen up for lunch via the Ngutuk Ongiron Primary school and meet some of the children and teachers.
01.00 pm Lunch
After lunch enjoy the private plunge pool by your room, or venture further afield to the main swimming pool with its large shaded area for a swim and relax.
04.30 pm Meet in the mess for afternoon tea and biscuits.
05.00 pm Set off for a gentle undulating walk / ride to a nearby (4 km) Kopje, accompanied by camels. A short steep climb to the top of the kopje you will find a three hundred and sixty degree view which is hard to surpass. Enjoy a drink as you watch the sun disappear below the horizon.
07.15 pm Return to the lodge in time for showers.
08.00 pm Candlelit dinner on the terrace.
